Our work together.

What does individual therapy look like?

Therapy isn’t just a place to talk about problems — it’s a space to get curious about your inner world. Many people seek counselling when something in their life no longer feels workable: familiar patterns aren’t helping like they used to, old coping strategies feel stretched thin, a significant change is taking place or there’s a sense that something deeper is asking for attention.

In our work together, we slow down enough to notice what’s happening between us in the room and what’s happening, or has happened in your life: the patterns, reactions, and habits that keep things feeling stuck. Therapy is a place where you can safely try new ways of being and notice how these new insights play out.

There’s no single method that works for everyone. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt them to what you need. At the beginning, weekly or bi-weekly sessions help us build momentum, and we’ll revisit your goals and needs as the work unfolds.

  • For many women, midlife arrives as an unsettling transition — your sense of self, your tolerance, and your needs all quietly shifting at once. The irritability, the foggy thinking, the sleepless nights are all happening, but also something deeper: a shift in what no longer works for you and a desire to move towards a more authentic self.

  • I recognize the unique psychological toll of high-stress, high-impact work and offer a supportive space to process trauma, build resilience, and navigate moral injury for first responders, veterans, journalists, and humanitarian workers. As a journalist and documentarian, I gained firsthand experience working in challenging environments—covering conflict, social justice issues, and stories of resilience throughout the Middle East and North Africa. I appreciate the cultural nuances and complexities of frontline work, as well as the commitment, motivations, deeply held values, and sacrifices it demands.

  • As an ICBC-approved counsellor, I support clients navigating the emotional and psychological impacts of motor vehicle accidents. If you have an active ICBC claim, counselling sessions may be covered as part of your recovery plan, and I can guide you through the next steps.
